This week we had a BBQ with group members and friends to celebrate the summer. We also said farewell to Young-Gwan, who is leaving QIQM to start his own research group at the University of Ulsan in South Korea!

Young-Gwan has joined the group almost from the very beginning, and oversaw our Nitrogen-Vacancy scanning magnetometry measurements. Young-Gwan was the group’s resident expert on optics and spintronics, and we will miss him at QIQM. However, we are very excited for his new group and look forward to many exciting results! We will continue our close collaboration in the upcoming years.

Thank you very much Young-Gwan and best of luck!

However, the group continues to grow and we would like to welcome our newest member, Kilian Srowik, who joined our group as a PhD student two weeks ago. Welcome Kilian!
